Don’t be surprised if on your next flight a male flight attendant greets you wearing a full face of makeup.
Yes really.
Joining the ranks of other pro-LGBT airlines – this airline recently launched an ad outlining their plans to let flight attendants “be their true selves” – and just wait until you hear the details.
Promoting their new policy, Virgin Atlantic’s latest commercial showcases men “just being themselves” …
… which includes putting on makeup with the song “I am what I am” playing in the background.
Virgin Atlantic Chief Executive Shia Weiss stressed the importance of “celebrating” the airline’s first “post-pandemic comeback” with this latest controversial ad.
Paddle Your Own Kanoo reported:
“At the core of our business is the understanding that every one of our people can be themselves at work and that they belong,” Weiss said on Thursday.
“They truly are the thing that sets us apart and the reason customers choose to fly with us. We know that the touchpoints that matter most and the experiences that differentiate Virgin Atlantic, are driven by our people and that’s why it was so important they’re at the heart of this campaign.”
And it’s not just Virgin Atlantic to jump on the LGBT bandwagon.
Alaska Airlines permits their flight attendants to wear nail polish or earrings – regardless of their gender.
In addition, Alaska Airlines recently announced their new “gender neutral uniforms” which include “pronoun pins” so you know how to properly address each flight attendant according to how they “identify.”
And then there’s United Airlines…
… which has long let their male flight attendants wear “natural” makeup and nail polish – and even have long, feminine hair.
United LGBT employees celebrated the victory – claiming they can now be “truly authentic” by wearing nail polish to work.
Condé Nast Traveler reported:
“It’s kind of exciting to feel represented and celebrated in a way that I’ve been outside of work for a long time,” says Ryan Briggs, a United Airlines flight attendant who identifies as non-binary.
Briggs says they routinely paint their nails and use makeup outside of work, but they previously couldn’t take those forms of self-expression on board planes.
“Now I can kind of take that into everything that I do instead of [only] being authentic outside of work,” they say.”
And as Proud American Traveler previously reported, United Airlines recently had their first ever “all LGBT flight” – where only those who identified as LGBT were allowed to staff the flight – from the pilot to the ground crew.
Crazy!
And let’s not forget the airlines that have banned the ‘ladies and gentlemen’ greeting because it “offends” certain passengers.
And thanks to Biden, Americans can now simply choose “X” as their gender on their U.S. passports.
It’s clear that the LGBT mania has infiltrated its way into the travel world, and there’s no telling what bizarre policy airlines will enact next.
We can only expect more crazy things to come as Biden’s “new normal” continues to cause a ripple effect of insanity in the travel industry.
What are your thoughts on male flight attendants wearing makeup?
Do you think travelers should be forced to refer to flight attendants by their “preferred pronoun”?
