“Fashion stands with Planned Parenthood.”
Carla D’Addesi was shocked when she saw this slogan during a fashion industry festival.
Was it true that her clothing purchases were supporting abortion?
Before long, Carla and her daughters were investigating the fashion industry.
And their discoveries spurred them on to create their own pro-life fashion brand!
Carla and her three daughters — Vittoria, Bella, and Gigi — were saddened when they realized that most of the major brands in today’s fashion world advocate for abortion, homosexuality, and other liberal causes.
In fact, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has been outspoken in its support of Planned Parenthood.
“Civic responsibility is an important CFDA pillar,” asserted CFDA President Steven Kolb. “We will raise awareness…and show that fashion stands with Planned Parenthood.”
More than sixty-two global fashion brands financially support Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry. GAP, Macy’s, Banana Republic, Converse, Ann Taylor, Nike, and Old Navy are among these brands.
“The fashion world glamorizes a culture of death by partnering with Planned Parenthood,” Carla realized.
She and her daughters, who are all avid fashionistas and pro-life advocates, wanted to use the fashion industry as a platform for the pro-life message. But the more they researched, they realized that very few brands, if any, supported pro-life organizations.
That’s when they had a grand idea: to launch their own pro-life fashion line!
“My daughters and I embarked on the adventure of a lifetime with the idea that there could be a fashion brand that celebrates all life from its tiniest moment to its final breath,” said Carla.
The four women were inspired to dream big, take risks, and step out in faith to create clothing that would honor the life and humanity of the unborn.
But first, they needed to learn how to work in the fashion industry! It took a year of intense work for Carla and her daughters to learn how to design and create garments and “compete for life” in the arena of fashion.
After doing more research, the four women realized that approximately nine million young women in the United States identify with pro-life values.
“We saw that there are nine million young women out there that feel the same way as [me and] my daughters,” Carla said. “There is a gap in the fashion industry for conservative women and we want to fill that gap.”
“There is a fashion war going on,” she continued. “Families like mine who are conservative feel like we have been marginalized and there is not a place for us in the fashion world.”
“Believe me, there’s never been a better time to launch a pro-life fashion line than today.”
Carla and her daughters decided to name their brand “COL1972” as a way to remember the high cost of Roe v. Wade.
“COL” stands for “Culture of Life,” and “1972” refers to “the final year [the U.S.] enjoyed a culture of life”—the year before the Supreme Court legalized abortion in Roe v. Wade in 1973.
“We glamorize a culture of life with our brand,” Carla said. “We believe that life is always in style and that every life is amazing!”
A portion of every COL1972 purchase goes straight to pro-life organizations and ministries that work to protect a “culture of life.”
“We want the world to understand that…you never have to sacrifice your core values in order to fit in,” the D’Addesi women shared. “COL1972 is fashion without compromise.”
It’s a unique way to fight for life—but since the brand’s launch, the COL1972 movement is growing every day!
“Our life tribe is growing!” Carla said in a recent interview. “We are beautiful and bold. Every purchase gives back to the pro-life community.”
COL1972 offers beautifully designed dresses, tops, and jewelry for women, as well as casual options for both men and women. The brand also designs accessories, like bags, hats, and pins.
All of COL1972’s designs are centered around the pro-life message. Even a simple pin or a delicate necklace is sure to be a conversation starter!

Most of all, pray that COL1972 will influence many within the fashion industry and make a difference for the pro-life movement.
