It’s that time of year again to decide whether you’re going to your sister’s out of town for Thanksgiving or staying in.
While travel restrictions and oppressive COVID-19 mandates have lifted substantially, now we have a whole new bag of problems.
So, where do you go for the traditional holiday spread and festivities outside of your traditional destination?
Thanks to Biden’s drastic inflation, many families aren’t able to afford to travel for the holidays this year.
We can barely afford snacks from the gas station these days ($4 for a keto cookie?! No thank you!), let alone the gas to travel out of town and several hungry mouths to feed – and you know the kids will not want your homemade organic granola.
Some families are thinking outside the box this holiday season after Allianz Partners released its “Top 10 Thanksgiving Destinations Index” for 2022 – both here in the U.S. and overseas.
Unfortunately for most Proud American Travelers, New York City is at the very top for a Thanksgiving experience outside of grandma’s kitchen.
Although, Andrew Cuomo is no longer able to terrorize Americans with his tyrannical reign of death and destruction, the new governor, Kathy Hochul, is no better.
Seattle, Washington, comes in second on the list. Hey, this is a free country (for now at least) and you are more than welcome to head there if you want to eat tofurkey and celebrate the holiday in an ironic way with a bunch of hipsters.
Finally, coming in third, is a destination that makes a little more sense to us – Orlando, Florida.
Heading south for the colder months is no stranger to the travel world and what better way to work off all that pumpkin pie than spending a few days hitting up some of the nation’s best amusement parks?
Falling further down the list was Washington D.C., Boston, Atlanta, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Dallas.
And if you want to go international and avoid Thanksgiving celebrations altogether like all the other “woke” Americans – Cancun and Puerto Vallarta were popular choices.
You also could spend Thanksgiving in London sipping tea and scoffing at the Declaration of Independence, but Proud American Traveler would recommend a different date to meet Big Ben.
Daniel Durazo, director of external communications at Allianz Partners USA, drives the main point home when he says, “No matter where you’re headed, the freedom to travel is once again something to be thankful for and deserves to be protected.”
That is definitely something to be thankful for!
As much as Kamala Harris wants you to stay in your home and save the planet like a good little liberal (while she jets around the world to brag about her environmental efforts) – you don’t have to.
Whether you stay home and carve your 20lb turkey with just family or head out to the famous Macys’ Thanksgiving Parade against our better advice, there is still much to be thankful for.
So go where the wind takes you – or where your wallet will allow (thanks again Biden!) – and make new Thanksgiving memories that will last generations.
